Ideas about Luxury are changing. Is it luxury if the artisans were paid below the living wage? Is it luxury if another culture’s heritage has been taken without permission or remuneration? Is it luxury if the materials used deplete our precious natural resources?  To quote Coco Chanel, “elegance is refusal”. We have a responsibility as brands and citizens to question even our most luxurious of products, and – if we don’t know how it’s been made, or what the impact is on the planet, to do the chicest thing, which is to say no. Is it luxury if the few get richer on the shoulders of the workers, whose lot never changes? How can brands define and create true luxury? And how can we as citizens trust them to do that?

In Partnership with MBFW Berlin and Fashion Revolution Germany.

We would like to thank @senwienbe (Berlin Senate Department for Economy, Energy and Businesses) for their support and the opportunity to be represented in these special times.
