About the Event

This event is the first in a trail across Glasgow during COP26 bringing the solutions showcased by nine international designers in response to the COP26 themes of Nature and Adaptation & Resilience to Glasgow. This event is supported by Lakmé Fashion Week.

This workshop will engage guests with zero-waste pattern cutting techniques from Jaipur-based brand Iro Iro using a jigsaw puzzle game. The workshop is hosted in the atelier of Glasgow-based tailor Alis Le May.

There are four kits each with a different jigsaw puzzle zero-waste pattern called Dohar (meaning a blanket), Chotti Dohar (meaning a Small Blanket), Paheli (meaning a puzzle) and Gaath (meaning a knot). Kits are priced at between £72 - £88 plus shipping. A kit is not required to participate in this event, we welcome all guests and will have four kits available for demonstration of the technique on the day.

This event is free to attend but spaces are limited so please only sign up if you are able to attend in person in Glasgow. If you sign up and are unable to attend please cancel your booking so that we can make the place available to someone on the waiting list. 

Materials for the workshop will be provided but you can purchase a Zero to Iro Iro - by you kit from Indian e-commerce platform Ikkivi in advance or after the event if you would like to create your own Iro Iro piece.

This event is part of a Fashion Open Studio programme in partnership with the British Council's The Climate Connection global programme and campaign. Nine designers from across the world have been selected in response to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 themes of Adaptation and Resilience and Nature.
