Time & Location
About the Event
This event is the first in a trail across Glasgow during COP26 bringing the solutions showcased by nine international designers in response to the COP26 themes of Nature and Adaptation & Resilience to Glasgow.
This performance and workshop will engage guests with the mosaic technique developed by Zimbabwean designer Vimbai Natasha Naomi and the community of artisans she works with to restore cotton fabrics recovered from a recently closed local mill. Hosted by Bawn Textiles, a Glasgow-based shop specialising in sustainable textiles and haberdashery this event will explore the loss and restoration of value embodied in the journey of these deadstock cotton fabrics.
This event is free to attend but spaces are limited so please only sign up if you are able to attend in person in Glasgow. If you sign up and are unable to attend please cancel your booking so that we can make the place available to someone on the waiting list.
This event is part of a Fashion Open Studio programme in partnership with the British Council's The Climate Connection global programme and campaign. Nine designers from across the world have been selected in response to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 themes of Adaptation and Resilience and Nature.
